This policy explains what AB The Tax Expert collects through this website, why we collect it, and what happens to it. It covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us during a paid engagement, which is governed by your engagement agreement.

Who we are

AB The Tax Expert provides tax preparation and bookkeeping services. Our work is performed by experienced tax professionals. We are not a CPA firm, and we do not provide audit or attest services.

What this website collects

There are exactly two places on this site where you can send us information:

• The contact form. What you type into it — typically your name, email address, and your message or question.
• The Get Started questionnaire. A short set of questions about your situation, used to recommend a service. It records your answers together with the contact details you provide.

Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or tax documents through this website. We do not ask for them here, and these forms are not the right place for them. If we need documents, we will tell you how to send them securely.

What happens to what you send

• Your submission is saved as a private record inside this website, visible only to signed-in site administrators.
• A notification email is sent to our own inbox so we can reply. That email is sent through Google Workspace (Gmail) and shows [email protected] as the sender, with your address set as the reply-to so we can respond to you directly.

We use it to answer you, to recommend the right service, and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not use it for advertising.

Analytics and tracking

This website does not run Google Analytics or GA4, and it does not carry advertising or social media tracking pixels. We do not build advertising profiles from your visit, and we do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

The site uses functional cookies only — the standard cookies WordPress sets to keep the site working and to keep administrators signed in. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may also set security cookies to protect the site from abuse. None of these are advertising cookies.

Service providers

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. A small number of providers necessarily handle it as part of running the site and our email:

• Google Workspace — our business email.
• Our web host — where this website and its records are stored.
• Cloudflare — security and delivery for the site. Cloudflare may also obscure email addresses shown on our pages to reduce spam.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you from this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond.

California residents may have rights under applicable California privacy laws. Requests regarding personal information may be sent to [email protected].

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information sent through this site, including encrypted connections and access controls on the records. No website can be guaranteed completely secure, which is why we ask you not to send sensitive documents through these forms.

Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
